BMW i3: Mixing Both Luxury and Sustainability with Ease
Known for being one of the most iconic luxury brands out there, students in automotive school may be pleasantly surprised by BMW’s commitment to sustainability, fuel efficiency, and conservation of resources. Made of energy from fully renewable materials, the BMW i3 swaps out plastics made from petroleum in favour of kenaf fibres for its interior, and has zero emissions while being driven. It also drives at a maximum all-electric speed of 160 km/h, and has a daily range of 246 km.
Hyundai Ioniq Electric: Zero Emissions, Plenty of Reason for Excitement
With a fully-electric range of 274 km per charge while running on a 100 kW electric motor, the Hyundai Ioniq Electric is a car with much to offer for the eco-conscious driver. Not only can drivers charge it at home whenever they want, but the zero-emissions Ioniq Electric also features low-electricity LED taillights and headlights, as well as regenerative brake technology for greater fuel efficiency—all while running off energy stored in a lithium-ion polymer car battery.
Chevrolet Bolt EV: Another Car Automotive School Students Will Appreciate
As far as affordable EVs go, the Chevrolet Bolt EV is a spacious, reliable, and green-friendly option. On a full charge, the Bolt EV can drive on a range up to 417 km (an increase of 34 km from past models), and can also be charged at the driver’s home at any time via Location-Based Charging. Porsche Taycan: When a Luxury Car Heavyweight Goes Electric

Running off two PSMs (permanent-magnet synchronous motors) while containing a charging capacity of up to 270kW on an 800-volt system, the Taycan’s strengths are in its acceleration, short time for recharging, and its two-speed transmission. Its dual electric motors are also known for their efficiency, and drivers can also get a horsepower rating of up to 522.
