This will prepare you to work on vehicles like the 2022 Honda Insight when it drops in for servicing. Find out what the Insight’s made of!
For Those in Hybrid and Electrical Mechanic Training, Check Out the Insight’s Engine and Performance
Honda went for an advanced hybrid powertrain that’s capable of balancing fuel efficiency with some impressive acceleration; it still manages to be faster than some other hybrids in its class. The Insight comes with a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine combined with a two-motor hybrid system. This gives the Insight a combined 151 horsepower.
If you’re interested in vehicle acceleration during your hybrid and electrical mechanic training, then you’ll be interested to know that the Insight can go from 0 to 60 mph in just over 7 seconds, thanks to the advanced hybrid powertrain. The Insight can even run for 1.6 km on its electric motor system alone, offering a smooth and comfortable ride.
Safety Is a Top Priority With Honda Sensing
As an aspiring hybrid and electric vehicle mechanic, you’ll know that when it comes to safety, Honda is on top of its game! Honda equipped the 2022 Insight with its impressive Honda Sensing— a suite of safety and driver assistance features. It comes with the Collision Mitigation Braking System that automatically applies brake pressure to avoid a collision. It also comes with a lane-keeping assist system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot information system and cross-traffic monitoring. This Honda Sensing Suite is a standard feature for both the Insight EX and Touring models. Honda is truly focused on driver safety as a core feature and not just an add-on to its different models.
There’s Nothing Fancy About the Insight’s Infotainment and Connectivity
When it comes to the Insight’s infotainment system and connectivity, nothing really stands out, except for a volume knob added to the interface. The infotainment comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen with a built-in navigation feature, a Wi-Fi hotspot and the regular Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. The infotainment screen can also display information about a user’s phone calls and allows the driver to monitor the Insight’s engine and battery usage. It also comes with a USB port and a 12-volt power outlet that’s easily accessible for both the driver and front passenger. The infotainment screen will also allow the driver to view the multi-angle rearview camera with different options when reversing.
