A Testimonial From Graduate Shaun Way

With summer just around the corner, we at Automotive Training Centre love hearing the progress of recent grads. From our Automotive Service Technician program to the Auto Service Operations, we want to know what you thought about our automotive training programs (and how you’re doing in the “real world”).

The latest student testimonial comes from Shaun Way, who recently graduated from the the Automotive Parts and Warehousing Program.

Here’s what Shaun had to say about his experience at ATC Surrey:

Hi,

My name is Shaun Way, and I am a recent graduate of the Automotive Parts & Warehousing at the Automotive Training Centre.

I enjoyed my time at ATC, and it helped me to become more organized, as well as how to be enthusiastic, positive and motivated. In this course, I learned to have empathy for my customers, and how important it is to able to multi-task.

I felt lost when I first came to ATC to begin my program, and I didn’t know what to expect, but as I got further into the program, I really learned a lot of new skills and that helped me build my self-confidence. I feel that I gained useful knowledge from this course, and I think that this training is an important step to beginning a new career.

I felt that the practicum (or work experience) was the best part of the course, because it prepares you for the workforce, and gives you an idea of what to expect and what your employer is going to expect of you. I completed my practicum at Barnes Wheaton Harley Davidson in Langley. It was an experience in which I learned many things, such as parts sales and how to look up the parts I needed.

My instructor, Ward MacDougall, was an awesome teacher.  He provided me with a supportive work environment, and I found him very helpful.

The Parts and Warehousing program have been very valuable to me in learning the skills to begin my career in the field I am interested in.

Shaun Way
