Finding a Place to Live in Surrey

When studying in Metro Vancouver, international students have several accommodation options based on budget, lifestyle, and convenience.

ATC does not have on-campus residences, but there are student housing providers in Surrey and nearby cities, such as:

  • Hub Place – A modern student residence near shopping and transit hubs.
2. Homestay: Live with a Canadian Family

A homestay lets you experience Canadian culture and improve your English while living in a safe and welcoming home. Most homestay families provide:

  • Private, furnished bedroom
  • Three meals per day
  • Access to shared spaces (bathroom, kitchen, laundry, TV room)
3. Renting an Apartment or Shared Housing

If you prefer independence, renting is a great option. Popular areas close to ATC Surrey include:

  • Whalley & City Centre – Close to SkyTrain, shopping, and entertainment.
  • Newton – A quieter neighbourhood with lower rental costs.
  • Fleetwood – Family-friendly with good transit access.

Renting Tips for International Students

  •  ✔ Start searching early to find the best housing options.
  • ✔ Research neighbourhoods based on safety, amenities, and public transport access.
  •  ✔ Avoid rental scams – Never send money before visiting the property.

Claude Meilleur Automotive Service Technician

At first, I had doubts about L’École de L’Automobile’s ability to provide me with the necessary knowledge for this career; mainly because of the length of the program they offer.

I had done three months in another school before, and it was boring so I quit. I really thought I wasted my time during these three months. At L’École de L’Automobile, I learned more in the first week then I did during the whole time I was at the other school.

At L’École de L’Automobile, the pace is fast and you need to be ready to work hard. I was studying a couple hours a night to make sure I succeeded. But my efforts really paid off. Shortly after I was done studying, I landed a job that was referred by the school.

I really enjoyed the smaller classes we had (fifteen students compared to thirty at my other school). L’École de L’Automobile offers a very efficient and professional learning experience. The teachers have great mechanical and educational skills.

Going to L’École de L’Automobile was definitely a positive experience for me and it gave me a new career.
