Career Outlook

Across the globe, the Automotive Industry continues to change and evolve as we move forward into the future. Technology, mass competition and consumer consumption are just a few of the reasons that can be attributed to this growth.

Driven by consumer demand, vehicles are becoming increasingly more advanced. The entire vehicle is transforming offering the latest in technology, from its inner workings such as hydrogen and fuel cell engines, to its exterior shell of cutting edge automotive plastics and metals.

Automotive parts have become extremely technical and the industry heavily relies on knowledgeable, trained parts specialist to keep their technical operations running. Without parts you simply wouldn't have a vehicle! No vehicles, no industry.

The sheer number of different makes and models of vehicles that exist is staggering. Without formal training, a parts specialist would be lost in a sea of nuts and bolts. Ongoing training is critical to professional success for an automotive parts specialist. The technical knowledge that is required is vast; you must know parts of past vehicles as well as keeping up with the newest trends as they emerge. Specialized industry computer software and inventory control programs have been developed to assist in this monumental task. A parts specialist is an extremely technical profession and plays a pivotal role in the success of automotive industry operations.

GRADUATE PROFILE
Valerie Kabouris
Fixed Operations Graduate
ATC Toronto
I don’t even know where to start! From the time Rita and Zaydett had organized me into my courses, I knew I was in the right place. The school is not only well organized but very well maintained also.

My Automotive Technology instructor was Roger Raymond. He was the one who never let me give up on myself and saw my passion for cars. He truly changed my life and needs credit. He is an absolute key to my success. Not only was he my instructor and mentor, Roger was my friend.

I also attended “ATC” for Service Advisor and Collision Estimating which is when I was instructed by Walter Cumberland. I loved Walter’s approach by not only incorporating theory and textbooks but making sure our brains were working everyday. Walter gave me a lot of business advice which I will keep with me forever and has helped me in my company.

Both my instructors have made a huge mark in my heart and I am forever thankful to them and this wonderful school.
