Ernie Peters
Automotive Technician Graduate
It was a quick and sudden decision I had to make. I was a framer 2 weeks before coming to BC from Ontario. I had plans to eventually get my auto mechanic license, but when? My two friends that I came with convinced me to enroll in the Automotive Technician (Mechanic) program here at ATC. I had no idea what to expect from this program. During the course of the program I have been able to get to know my weaknesses and strengths; working and improving in both areas continuously. The instructors were terrific and from their own extensive work experience, they were able to imply that knowledge in the program and help us understand things we wouldn't quite get from out of the book.
Its been truly an amazing experience. Since the beginning of the program, I've been employed in the automotive industry. Its been quite helpful to use what I've learned in school out in the real world and able to turn heads doing so. The class times and shop times are divided into equally. It helped us all to practice what we had learned the previous day. I've gained a lot of courage and been able to expand my comfort zone around projects I initially thought I couldn't do. All in all if you are looking for a career, or a change in careers, ATC is definitely a good place to get a head start and an opportunity for a brighter, better and secure future.
