World’s Fastest Police Cars

Police

To catch criminals today, you need a fast car and top notch equipment. Police forces around the world are piloting impressive cars, including, believe it or not, Camaros, Ferraris and Lamborghinis in some parts of the planet. Though there is more to police work than high-speed chases, these supercars help officers maintain respect and uphold the law. Whether you’re currently studying at auto mechanic schools, interested in auto careers or simply like cars, it’s normal to be fascinated by these ultra-powerful vehicles.

From Michigan to Dubai, here’s a look at the world’s fastest police cars!

Chevrolet Camaro SS (Dubai)

Introduced in Dubai in May 2013, the sleek Chevrolet Camaro SS allows Dubai Police officers to cruise down the streets with great speed and style. With this addition, the United Arab Emirates became the first Middle Eastern country to use a Camaro as part of its law enforcement fleet. The car is powered by 6.2 liters V8 engine capable of a staggering 426 horsepower and can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. It has a top speed of about 250 km/h. Lexus IS-F (England)

In Northern England, the Humberside Police has been using the modified Lexus IS-F since July 2009. The car features a 5.0 Liters engine capable of 416 horsepower and has been modified to add high-tech equipment like a computer platform, four cameras and an advanced radio system. Thanks to its amazing braking and handling capabilities as well as the ease with which it reaches 0 to 100 km/h, the car can go toe-to-toe with the high-powered sports cars favoured by local criminals.

Audi R8 GTR (Germany)

Audi

In Germany, some police officers are allowed to pilot custom Audi R8 GTR, beautiful cars that have been tuned by professionals with auto mechanic training to make them lighter and faster. The Audi R8 GTR’s are equipped with carbon fiber parts that reduce their weight. They also have racing seats and an upgraded engine, which can reach up to 620 horsepower. It only takes 3.2 seconds for the car to reach 100 km/h and it possesses a top speed of 325 km/h. No wonder these awesome cars turn heads everywhere they go!

Lamborghini Gallardo (Italy)

To celebrate milestone anniversaries of the Italian Police, Lamborghini donated three limited edition Lamborghinis back in the mid-2000s. One of the vehicles, the Gallardo LP560-4, has a top speed of 327 km/h and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in an astonishing 3.7 seconds. With its 5.2 liters V10 engine capable of 560 horsepower, it’s undoubtedly a crime-fighting superstar.
