Enrolled in Mechanic College? The New 2022 BMW is About to Arrive!
BMW is rocking the automotive world with the release of the next-generation 2022 2-series coupe. This vehicle is the first of an all-new generation of a quintessential BMW model, and comes with plenty of different options which are sure to please auto enthusiasts. With a rear-drive option as well as an all-wheel-drive option, this two-door model packs in the horsepower regardless of the system selected. Offering a smooth and sporty ride, ‘Bimmer’ enthusiasts are calling this compact vehicle an instant classic.
As a smaller and more affordable vehicle than many of the new models on the market today, the 2-series coupe provides a hint of nostalgia, without sacrificing any performance. If you’re seeking a career as an auto mechanic, read on to discover how this BMW drives, and which key features it offers!
If You Want to Become a Mechanic, See How the 2022 BMW 2-series Coupe Drives
The 2-series coupe comes with two different trim levels – the 230i and the M240i. The 230i is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, delivering 255 horsepower, while the M240i has a 3.0-litre inline-six engine that gets 382 horsepower. While the 230i is currently only available with rear-wheel drive and the M240i is equipped with all-wheel-drive, BMW has promised that both models will later be available with both drivetrain options. In the rear-wheel drive model, drivers can get from 0-100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, while the more powerful M240i can get to the same speed in 4.1 seconds. Standard in both options is an eight-speed automatic transmission, with the choice of shift paddles available for the 230i. Those with auto mechanic training will also be impressed with how the 2-series coupe handles, aided by a chassis setup complete with a five-link rear suspension and a two-joint spring strut front suspension. Given its near 50/50 weight distribution, neutral handling will be the name of the game when driving the 2-series.
A Peek at the Coupe’s Interior and Exterior
This BMW excels in beautiful styling, both inside and out. The sleek two-door coupe features flared fenders, a kidney grille, a power-dome, and a low-to-the-ground appearance. As for the interior, it’s been designed to feel like a cockpit, complete with leather upholstery, ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more. This 2022 upgrade to the 2-series is slightly longer and wider than the previous model, making the interior even more comfortable for drivers. Despite the fact that it’s a coupe, the quality of its design and the driver-centric ergonomics make for luxury-comfort and an exciting ride.

Technology and Safety Features
If you want to become a mechanic, you’ll be impressed by the safety features and technology, which come standard on the 2022 BMW 2-series. This vehicle is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, which can either be controlled via the steering wheel or by voice command. In a subtle nod to older models, drivers can also control this system using the rotary controller located on the center console.
The 2-series also comes with plenty of standard driver assistance technology, including front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, standard forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. If drivers desire, they can equip their model with a self-parking assist option, in which the vehicle parks automatically in both parallel and perpendicular spots.
