As an automaker, Mercedes-Benz has always been known for its elegance, its class and its ability to make beautiful cars that are not only luxurious but extremely well made. Their new 2015 C Class is definitely no exception. Unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Automotive Show, the 2015 C Class turned heads with its gorgeous exterior and the massive power it had grumbling under the hood. Now, production has started on the sleek and sultry model, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Sleek, Small and Surprisingly Powerful

Many have exclaimed that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class is a dead ringer for a more miniature version of the automaker’s flagship S Class model, and the resemblance is pretty striking. However, being a smaller and sleeker model means that you can have all of that elegance coupled with much better overall fuel economy than its larger counterpart. Speed demons fear not, however, as the company is also going to be offering a performance “sport” model of the C Class in addition to the “luxury” model. It’s also available in three distinct styles: coupe, wagon and sedan.

The stylish exterior is less curvy than its S-Class counterpart, and the front of the car has been broadened on both the luxury and sport models as well, sporting the classy automotive painting that the company is known for. The interior is peppered with wood and aluminum, further promoting the prestige and stateliness that Mercedes-Benz is well known for.

Under the Hood

Depending on which model you choose, the Mercedes-Benz offers two equally stunning engines under the hood. The C300 luxury model comes with a 235 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, whereas the C400 sport model has a growling 329 horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6. Both are turbocharged and direct-injected, and both sport a seven-speed automatic transmission. While both feature Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, the option of rear wheel drive is expected to be fitted to future models.

Expansion Strategy

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C Class is also part of the company’s new plans for expansion, representing the first time that a Mercedes-Benz model will be built simultaneously on four continents, providing a wealth of people with great auto careers. Aside from construction in its Bremen, Germany plant, the model will also be produced in South Africa, China, and the U.S.  The Bremen plant will handle most of the strategy, training and production and the plant’s automotive technicians are currently trucking in employees from other parts of the globe to get them up to speed with hands-on production line training so they’re able to start production at their own centres soon. All four factories are expected to be operational by July.

The 2015 C Class won’t be in showrooms for a while, as production has just begun, but we wait with bated breath for this beauty to grace our shores.
